Terry Fox Walk 2009

On Thursday, September 24/09, Roland School held their 13th annual Terry Fox Walk.  Roland School has raised over $1300.00 dollars over the past 12 years.

This year, we assembled in the gym, talked about who Terry Fox was, his accomplishments, watched a video about his Marathon of Hope across Canada, then we went out to walk to the Pumpkin and back.  We had a special police escort by Constable Jordan Carole that drove his police cruiser in front of us with the lights and siren to make sure we were safe on the road.  It was  like being in a parade.  Thank you to Constable Carole for being part of our walk.  Thank you to all students and parents who contributed to this worthwhile cause of finding a cure for cancer.

We will also be having a pie in the face of a teacher at our Open House on Monday, Sept. 28 at 7 PM.  Tickets are $1.00 and all proceeds are going towards our Terry Fox fund.

Congratulations to Jaime who won the draw for the Terry Fox t-shirt and Taylor who won the draw for the Terry Fox pin.
